TURNEY WYLDE CONSTRUCTION BOOSTS ORDER BOOK
11/3/2010
Leading contractor Turney Wylde Construction, well known for its involvement across all sectors of the construction industry, continues to provide solutions within the housing sector.
At a time when the national housing market is still relatively depressed, director Ian Cuthbertson is pleased to have secured more than £5m of refurbishment and new build housing projects within the last few weeks. He said:
“A large proportion of our work has always come from the housing sector and at the present time, whilst we continue to develop our own housing projects under the Wylde Homes www.wyldehomes.co.uk brand, the social and affordable housing market is relatively buoyant. It is essential that building contractors such as Turney Wylde are sufficiently adaptable to follow market developments if they are to continue to prosper.”
Working on behalf of longstanding client, social housing provider Isos Housing Group, Turney Wylde has been appointed to two separate projects – the construction of twenty two dwellings valued at £2m in Easington Colliery where work is well under way and a further eight dwellings at the Northumberland coastal village of Beadnell worth £1.3m where work is due to start in March 2010.
Additional refurbishment contracts have been secured with Newcastle City Council to provide property and environmental improvements to the West End of Newcastle and with Your Homes Newcastle who approach the end of their Decent Homes programme.
Finally, Turney Wylde are due to commence the conversion of office premises in Carliol Square, Newcastle into a modern hotel in a £2m project on behalf of Euro Hostels.
